What it’s like working at CBC/Radio-Canada
At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.
Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.
As Editor / Production Designer, you will design and establish the continuity, pace and artistic/technical elements that make up the editing and visual effects of television products, lending unique, original added value to them in order to fulfill the desired objectives and artistic intentions. To this end, you will plan all phases of visual-effect editing, development and creation, assessing the work and time required so that you can propose a schedule in line with production needs.
You will also prepare, transport, set up, operate, dismantle, put away and maintain technical equipment/material, ensuring it is in good, clean and safe working order.
For reference purposes, you will also be requiring to operate a camera.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- College diploma in Television Production and Postproduction Techniques or any relevant diploma.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience creating montages.
- Knowledge of the AVID editing system required.
- Knowledge of post-production methods.
- Familiarity with Photoshop and After effects, an asset.
- Technical knowledge of (and/or experience with) photo composition, formatting and shooting an asset.
- Good knowledge of French (spoken and written).
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Judgment and creative mind.
- Keen interest in working in a news environment.
- Available to work on various shifts (night, early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends).
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
