Event Safety Officer
The Event Safety Officer monitors for activity that could be of harm to Guests and/or Entertainers at an event. They are assigned a position of patrol and will respond to issues as needed and provide excellent customer service. The position is required to ensure proper control of large crowds. Assignments could include concerts, VIP Service (escorting to the Center from the Hotel, bus, airport or alternate venue). Nightclub setting, Artist, Tradeshow or any type of load in and load out from the Center.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers
Respond to emergency situations individually or with a team
Complete emergency response and evacuation procedures
Crowd control for different types of Events
Conduct internal and external security patrols of the Entertainment Center as well as the parking lots
Write daily logs and reports of all incidents
Communicate via hand held radio
All other duties as assigned
Secondary Responsibilities
Reports to the Security Supervisor/Director
Monitors employee activity to ensure conduct of all operations in accordance with Casino Complex Standards, Policies and Procedures and those established by the Service Provider;
Enforces restricted access to non-public and secure areas;
Reports and provides Incident Reports for any suspicious or criminal activity, suspicious persons, or unattended children to the Manager/Supervisor;
Assists in medical emergencies;
Provides escorts on and off Center Floor where required;
Working Conditions
Possess a valid New Brunswick Driver’s license
Able to stand for long periods of time
Work during a range of weather conditions
Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays)
Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration
Must have employment eligibility in Canada
Must be 19 years of age or older
Knowledge and Skills Required
Prior experience in the Security field is essential
Must have level 1 First Aid training
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Word)
Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
Security Officer
Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Security Officer monitors for activity that could be of harm to people at the Casino Complex. They are usually assigned an area of patrol and will respond to security related issues as needed. The Security Officer is required to ensure proper control of large crowds. He/She will monitor for signs of property vandalism or break & entry.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain a valid Gaming Control Registration
Responsible for the safety and well being of staff and patrons of the Complex.
Patrol areas assigned by Security Supervisor.
Responsible for escorting intoxicated guests off property and ensuring safe transportation to their destination
Check doors, windows, locks and building interiors for signs of damage or theft.
Provide information, guide traffic or respond to complaints and maintain order.
Watch for intruders, sometimes through the use of electronic surveillance systems.
Observe and keep records of security-related activities.
Respond to service calls for escort, gaming chip fills/credits, money transport, and audits.
Issue and receive controlled key sets, and Vendor, Guest and Employee badges in accordance with Casino and NBLGC policies and procedures.
Attend required safety training programs and apply knowledge gained from these training sessions
Report all injuries, accidents and unusual conditions immediately to the Director of Security.
Secondary Responsibilities
Reports to the Security Supervisor
Monitors employee activity to ensure conduct of all gaming operations in accordance with NBLGC Casino Standards, Policies and Procedures and those established by the Service Provider;
Enforces restricted access to non-public and secure areas;
Monitors patrons/employees in the Casino and parking area to identify underage persons, intoxicated persons and suspicious persons or activity;
Reports and provides Incident Reports for any suspicious or criminal activity, suspicious persons, exclusions or unattended children to the Surveillance Supervisor;
Assists in medical emergencies;
Provides escorts on and off Gaming Floor where required;
Other duties as assigned.

Work evenings, weekends and holidays. We are an approved 24×7 operation
Must be physically capable (i.e. work shifts, stand for long period of time)
Physical Ability: Security guards often have to handle and transport materials that are over 25lbs.
Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays)
Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration
Must have employment eligibility in Canada
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (Cold/Hot)
Must be 19 years of age or older
Knowledge and Skills Required
6 months to 1 year demonstrated security/surveillance experience. (Preference will be given to experience in a casino environment)
Education in related field of study including law enforcement would be a definite asset.
Current certification in first aid.
Trained in self-defense and diffusing difficult situations without the use of force.
Ability to maintain calm and perform duties under stressful conditions.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated report writing and incident investigation skills.
Bilingualism (English/Fresh) is an asset
