SUMMARY

The System Administrator (Desktop Hardware) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software related infrastructure. This individual is also responsible for setting up, installing and monitoring user Desktop Hardware. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, performance and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers and Partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proving support to front line personnel and office support personnel via Help System tickets and Help Desk calls.
  • Maintaining the corporate Desktop Hardware by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting hardware, software, operating systems, and system management systems; defining system and operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a portfolio of corporate servers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor.
  • Development of system access, monitoring, control and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.
  • System upgrades by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluation and installing enhancements and new software.
  • Participate in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and professional organizations.
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • System Administration (Windows Server 2003, 2008 & Window XP Pro,7)
  • LAN WAN knowledge, multi-tasking, on-call.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • MCSE or Equivalent.
  • Relevant degree or technical diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum two years experience in an IT role.

SALARY

  • $45,000 – $50,000 based on education/experience, benefits after three months.
