The Aviation Machinist performs aircraft parts repairs and completes the associated documentation in accordance with industry standards, and Cascade Aerospace policies and procedures and ensures documentation has been completed in accordance with industry/company policies/procedures, assists and coaches Apprentices as required

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Strive to consistently act in a manner in which reflects Cascade Aerospace’s culture and values.
  • Machine and/or repair parts and components in accordance with the customer’s check package, Transport Canada Regulations (CARS), Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM), Quality Control Procedures (QCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Process Standards (CPS), all maintenance, manufacturing and policy manuals.
  • Ensure all paperwork, documentation and reporting associated with a repair/modification is completed accurately and in accordance with the customer’s check package, Transport Canada Regulations (CARS), Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM), Quality Control Procedures (QCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Process Standards (CPS), all maintenance, manufacturing and policy manuals.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on machine shop equipment on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all work tasks are performed in accordance with Cascade Aerospace health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as required.
  • This position belongs in the bargaining unit and shall abide by all rules and regulations as set out in the collective agreement.

CORE SKILLS

  • Good communication skills: fluent written and verbal English is mandatory
  • Basic Computer Skills: word processing, spreadsheet and database programs
  • Basic knowledge on bench work, sawing, drill machines, lathe operation, milling, jig and horizontal boring and grinding.
  • Basic Knowledge of Computerized Numerical Control machining (CNC)

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

Education: Grade 12 Diploma

Certificate in Machining/Welding

Fitting/Drafting

Experience: 5 years experience as an Aerospace Machinist

SPECIAL CONDITIONS and INFORMATION

  • These positions will be required to work on any project or line, on A & B shift rotations.
  • Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information
