Capital Region Housing is hiring an IT Technical Analyst to assist in a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis and solutions documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware, software, and network products in an information technology infrastructure environment.

Capital Region Housing is a not-for-profit organization that is the largest provider of social and affordable housing in the Edmonton area, and one of the largest in Alberta. We manage over 4,500 social (community) housing units, over 600 near market (affordable) units and administer over 3,000 rent subsidies. Capital Region Housing has also delivered the HOME Program for over 15 years, helping those with low to moderate income Albertans who wish to move into home ownership.

Reporting to the Systems Administrator, this position is key to the implementation and support of the servers, applications and network infrastructure of the corporation. The IT Technical Analyst will also work with internal departments to support end users in their IT needs.

Monthly Salary Range: $4,963 – $6,212 (Based on the AUPE Collective Agreement)

Qualifications:

An IT analyst must combine strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities with project management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial to reconciling the sometimes-disparate needs of management, technical personnel and end-users. An IT Analyst must also be acutely aware of the latest technology and how best to leverage its capabilities for an organization, including:

  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure and software environments, programs, methodologies, procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of systems management software, remote control, patch management, software distribution, and computer operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of network environments and concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, wireless and mobile computing.
  • Knowledge of server hardware, server operating systems, server tools and utilities, and server data backup and restore.
  • Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and personal computer software.
  • Knowledge of capabilities of computer equipment and technology.
  • Considerable technical problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide analytical, technical, and administrative support in planning, designing, and implementation of information technology hardware, software, and network components.
  • Ability to prepare detailed written instructions and documentation.
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, define problems, and devise solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective consulting relationship with internal clients with a strong customer service orientation
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in cross-functional team

Educational Requirements:

The incumbent must have 3 to 5 years of technical support and customer service experience as well as a relevant diploma or proven IT experience, with emphasis on broad exposure to all aspects of end-user computing
