As the Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is one of two key customer facing positions, the ISR plays a key

role in creating the first impression for excellent customer service and laying the ground work for a

successful order by ensuring order accuracy, verifying order details with the customer, and relaying vital

information to “behind the scenes” team members.

The Inside Sales Representative takes on a generalist function and is comfortable selling lumber, siding,

decking, and engineered wood products. Our customers range in size from small independent lumber

yards, to regional building material dealers, and national home improvement chains.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Support customer relationships with an established dealer network by using outstanding service skills

and proactive sales techniques.

 Accurate and timely entry of orders received by phone, fax or email into a computerized order system.

 Receive inbound phone calls for enquiries and orders.

 Place outbound phones calls for truck runs and customer order follow-ups.

 Prompt and accurate entry of credits and returns

 Work with Account Managers to deliver and maintain programs and services.

 Work with design team:

 Receive information from customer and relay to design group.

 Coordinate communication between customer and design group.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Sales

 Excellent customer service skills on the phone

 Demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs

 Comfortable with conducting outbound phone calls to existing customers

Technical  Able to quickly learn technical information specific to the building industry

 Working knowledge of wood frame residential construction is an asset.

Other  Very comfortable with Excel, Word, Outlook; good keyboarding skills and computer skills

 Aptitude for numerical calculations

 Excellent English communication skills at a capacity to influence sales over the phone

EDUCATION  High school graduation is a requirement.

 Formal sales training is desirable.
