Department: Facility Operations & Engineering

Reports to: Supervisor, Conversions

We are now preparing for the 2015/2016 hockey season, this position is ongoing and will support all concerts and events within Rogers Arena

The General Labour/Conversions job functions include:
· Setting up and dismantling of performance/game areas, and applicable seating and signage for events
· Adhering to safety practices and procedures in executing responsibilities
· Other duties may be assigned as required
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
· Must be able to:
-lift (repetitive and moderate weights), bend, stretch, reach, and twist throughout the shift
-work in a noisy and crowded environment
· Ability to work graveyard shifts (i.e. 11pm -7am)
· Ability to learn the use of required tools and equipment
· Ability to learn to use a radio
· Ability to read and understand safety instructions, manuals and diagrams
· Demonstrated ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems and make decisions
· Strong eye-hand coordination
· Mechanically inclined
· Excellent spatial orientation and visual capabilities
· Ability to work under tight time lines and the resulting deadline pressure
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
· First Aid certificate
· Experience working in a service oriented role
· Knowledge or interest in sport and entertainment events
· Forklift experience
· Forklift certificate from a recognized training institute, program, or organization
· Previous conversions and/or general labour experience
