Job Vacancy: Gold Magnet aka Grant Writer
Position Location: Vancouver
FTE: Part-Time – hours TBD (at least 2.5 days/week)

Canopy is seeking an experienced Grant Writer and fundraiser with a proven track record of success to join our fun, results-oriented and fast paced team. You will work closely with Canopy’s Development Director and Leadership Team to enable Canopy’s work in the world. We take fundraising seriously at Canopy and we like to emphasis the FUN in FUNdraising. If you are a powerful and creative communicator who can convince anyone of anything, then you may well be our perfect new team member. If you’re game to sharpen your charades skills to communicate our story, as well as have an excellent written piece as back up for when you need to conform to rules, then this is the job for you.

Position Summary:
Canopy’s Grant Writer is primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making bodies, and will persuasively communicate Canopy’s innovative, collaborative, solutions-focused model of change and mission to potential and existing funders. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
