Position Summary

The main responsibilities for this role, under the direction of the Team Lead of Corporate Security, are to provide day-to-day support for security activities at Home Office. This includes the physical security of Canadian Tire Home Office; its employees and assets; loss prevention and safeguarding of proprietary information; investigation and reporting of incidents to ensure adherence and compliance to corporate policies; supervision of contract security guards; and administrative duties. The Analyst is also responsible for tracking, recording, analyzing and reporting all security related incidents and help to find ways to decrease or mitigate known risks.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and recommend appropriate courses of action to minimize threats or incidents, which could adversely affect the security and safety of the brand, employees, assets and intellectual or monetary interests
  • Assist the Team Lead with all threat assessment and advance security work when required. This can include, but not limited to; employee residential assessments, corporate events and interrelated support at various locations both domestically and internationally
  • Accountable for the monitoring, maintenance and administration of the corporate travel safety program including; monitoring all employee travel, working with business stakeholders to mitigate any potential risks to travel; create, facilitate and maintain travel country risk reports and all associated employee education programs relating to such
  • Research, evaluate and manage various vendors for outsourced security providers and services, including but not restricted to; technical counter surveillance measures and equipment, covert surveillance, communication providers and physical protective services – including close protection and home intrusion systems
  • Track, record and analyze all security related occurrences across the enterprise and report those findings on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the development of security and loss prevention programs and processes for all Corporate Security supported interrelated businesses. Support new employee orientations through the delivery of education and training
  • Act as a first line of response to threats and emergencies while managing, triaging and if necessary, escalating the occurrence
  • Support the Team Lead with close and personnel protective duties at corporate events or functions both domestically and internationally
  • Oversee and audit all physical security controls, including key and card access at home office
  • Support the investigation of any criminal acts, risk items or identified policy breaches at CTC Home Office and its related business banners
  • Provide 24/7 support for all security and loss prevention related incidents including; BCCO, HR and BU investigations or inquiries
  • Provide oversight, support and work direction to 3rd party security guards on-site
  • Support interrelated business units using established risk analysis metrics
  • Research and maintain working knowledge of current trends in technology, legislative documentation and industry impacts
  • Plan and execute undercover operations and the use of specialized equipment to mitigate any risks to the brand.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary education (Law Enforcement/Police Foundations, Criminology, Justice Studies or a related field is preferred)
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a security, loss prevention or law enforcement role, preferably in a supervisory capacity
  • Meet and maintain provincial licensing requirements as outlined in the PSISA
  • Strong written and oral English is a requirement. Bilingualism, preferably in Canadian-French, is an asset
  • Possess and maintain First Aid and CPR certification
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office including; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must undergo a yearly criminal and credit background check.
  • Possess a valid G class driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Maintain a valid Canadian Passport
  • Full working knowledge of security systems, access control and alarm integration
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver programs and tactics on time – to budget in an ambiguous, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical, planning and co-ordination skills
  • Ability to identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
