The successful candidate will support the implementation of our Environmental Management System and related objectives, targets and programs. The primary focus will be identifying and assessing significant environmental aspects as well as supporting new and existing waste diversion initiatives at our Brampton area Distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

Assist with the identification of environmental aspects and impacts

Assess the significance of environmental aspects, collect relevant activity and program data and update database with aspect details and other relevant information

Monitor recycling commodity markets and identify opportunities for increased revenue

Identify opportunities to increase waste reduction and diversion in the DC’s

Provide support with the implementation and on going operation of environmental programs

Assist with environmental communication and awareness initiatives (Employee Health Fairs, CIA’s, Communication Boards, Special Events)

Requirements

Post secondary education in environmental management or related program

Must be familiar with Ontario environmental laws and regulations

Knowledge of ISO 14001 or equivalent management system and risk management process
