Canadian Tire’s Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) group requires an Associate Project Manager to be part of the project team focused on the delivery of new and evolutionary infrastructure technology solutions for the Canadian Tire enterprise, its partners, and its customers.

T

he EIS team supports and implements a wide variety of technologies in the corporation, including Voice, UNIX, Mainframe, Windows, Linux, Desktop, Database, Integration Architecture, Web Services and Network Infrastructure. As an Associate Infrastructure Project Manager, you will be responsible for directing project staff from EIS and tracking project deliverables throughout the project delivery lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall), ensuring that the technology needs of projects are delivered with agility, efficiency, effectiveness, and on budget.

What You’ll Do:
Work with project PM, business, IT and vendors as the primary EIS contact to manage large scale infrastructure deployment

Work with the business and IT to scope, size and articulate project concepts into clear project objectives

Collaborate with IT Technology Planners to develop project plans at a task, milestone, and resource level in an Agile SDLC as well completion of project documentation such as Infrastructure Requirements

Adhere to a structured, project management methodology

Assess, plan and engage project resources as needed throughout the life of the project

Work in partnership with Functional Managers within IT to obtain the necessary skill sets and resources

Track and manage established plans to ensure all deliverables and milestones are met

Manage project scope on an ongoing basis using documented change management techniques

Manage, motivate and lead project team in a distributed agile software delivery model

Manage delivery of project tasks and deliverables according to time and cost parameters

Engage team on an ongoing basis to identify and manage project issues, risks and action plans

Actively manage multiple projects (projects may be in different phases)

What You’ve Done

5+ years of experience working on large, complex IT projects

Background experience in data centre technologies

Experience working with vendors to deploy technology and handle escalation of issues

Experience managing small to medium projects using a disciplined approach to project management

Core PM competencies: scope management, cost and risk management, timely decision making, effective team building, ability to prioritize, delegate appropriately and deal with changing priorities

Demonstrated ability to establish and deliver resource based project plans

Experience in System Development Lifecycle and Project Management methodologies

Excellent people management skills; experience working with and managing teams in a matrix environment

Strong Microsoft Project skills; Project Management designation an asset

Experience in Agile methodologies

The successful candidate for this role will have the flexibility to work outside normal hours as required for scheduled implementations, and be able to periodically commute to various Canadian Tire office locations as required.
