Consultant, Consumer Research – C04NJG Reporting to the Manager Customer Insights, the Consumer Research Consultant will provide consumer based counsel to key businesses by initiating and conducting primary research with existing research and information to aid in business decisions. The Consultant will work closely with the Manager – Customer Insights to execute a wide range of research projects. This includes recommending the appropriate research approaches, assisting with survey development, managing external vendors, and ensuring the research projects provide recommendations. The Consumer Research Consultant will also assist in the management of the Canadian Tire Customer Research panel.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the research request intake process including briefing meetings with stakeholders to better understand the requirements and provide guidance on what is needed
  • Recommending the optimal research methodology based on the requirements and business objectives
  • Conducting end-to-end, in-house research projects including; survey writing, survey scripting, data processing, coding, report preparation and co-presenting of results
  • Analyzing existing available information and consumer trends
  • Managing primary research with 3rd party vendors
  • Identifying & integrating sources of information
  • Participating in vendor presentations of findings and facilitating discussions of actionable recommendations
  • Networking with industry contacts & attend educational conferences/seminars to identify appropriate research techniques
  • Assessing current methodologies with intent to evolve methodologies when necessary to provide a better consumer focus

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary degree in Business and or a related field
  • Minimum 3 + years work experience within a consumer market research environment
  • Understanding of research methodologies (choice-based modeling, usage and attitude, segmentation, brand/market/advertising tracking, concept testing, customer satisfaction)
  • Understanding of multi-variate statistical techniques (factor analysis, cluster analysis & multiple regression)
  • Proven / hands on experience with choice-based modelling techniques (Maxx-Diff and Conjoint)
  • Experience with consumer insights and an ability to synthesize data to make recommendations
  • Research experience and experience with Vision Critical Sparq is an asset
