Our Supply Chain and
Merchandising teams are responsible for connecting our quality products and
services with our customers. The Merchandising
team uses planning frameworks and tools to provide recommendations that will
ensure financial results, and provide decisions on key inputs such as point of
sales forecasts. The Supply Chain team is constantly undertaking process
improvement initiatives, fine tuning capacity models, employing technology
solutions, building strong relationships with third party logistics and product
suppliers to better manage one of the country’s deepest and most extensive
supply chain networks.
What You’ll Do
The Application Developer Co-op student is responsible for the development of new .NET applications, as well as the migration of existing MS Access to .NET applications under the direction and guidance of a Senior Programmer/Analyst. In order to perform their tasks effectively, the developer must be able to read and interpret a technical BRD and convert the documentation into code.
This position will also require a strong grasp of data models and relational databases. In addition to programming commitments, the developer also works closely with the Technology Team Lead to provide updates on timelines, work effort, and statuses of existing application- related projects.
Development of C#/VB.NET applications while adhering to CTC programming standards
Web Development utilizing ASP.NET
Design data models and infrastructure for future applications and integrate these models with existing infrastructure
Execute application promotion requests between various environments in conjunction with DBA
Translate Functional Design documents into efficient reusable code
Maintain and update documentation and schedules for projects & initiatives through the use of MS Office, MS Project, and Gantt charts

What You’ve Done
Enrollment in a Post-Secondary Computer Science Program
Proven programming experience in C#/VB.Net, SQL, and Web Development
Thorough understanding of Object Oriented Programming
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong analytical, conceptual, organizational and problem solving skills
Demonstrated planning, report writing, presentation and communication skills
Willing team player, able to present to and interact with various levels of Distribution personnel
Strong PC skills with MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Experience in the execution of business case investigations and problem solving on processes, systems and workflows
would be an asset
Experience within a Distribution environment, information system platforms & host systems would be an asset
Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Access
Familiarity with VB6, C, C++, JAVA
