We are recruiting for a n AUTISM CONSULTANT

This is a contract part-time role (28 hours per week) until January 2016 based in Guelph.

This position directly provides Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) Programming. ABA based services and supports for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder are designed to develop skills in key areas and to address behaviours that interfere with functioning. ABA based skill building services and supports include those that increase functional life skills and decrease interfering behaviour. All assessments and plans will focus on 4 key areas: communication, social/interpersonal, daily living, behaviour management/social regulation. This position will provide these ABA services and supports in individual and group formats in Wellington and Dufferin counties.

The incumbent requires:
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human/Social Services, or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year experience working with community support services

Education in applied behavioural analysis and/or extensive experience working with children/adults with ASD utilizing an ABA approach

Experience in helping children and families set measurable goals and implement teaching strategies

Experience working in a multidisciplinary team is required

Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset

Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and various database software

Some evening and weekend hours will be an expectation

A valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance, as travel is required
