Canadian Lacrosse League:
The Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax) is a men’s semi-professional indoor lacrosse league with five (5) teams based in Ontario. CLax plays eight (8) regular season games plus playoffs, with games played throughout the winter and spring (unlike other Canadian box lacrosse leagues that play in the summer). CLax is the parent organization to the winter youth box lacrosse league, Jr. CLax which has affiliated youth teams in the same communities as the Pro teams.

Sales & Marketing Executive:
The Southwest Cyclops of the Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax) are scouting for a Sales & Marketing Executive for the Spring/Summer months. Having sales experience, this individual will be assisting with selling all ticket and partnership packages, assisting in the recruitment of Jr. CLax participants and corporate partners, while providing superior customer service to all customers/partners of the organization. Qualified applicants must be organized, self-motivated, team players with the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. Heavy telephone and in-person contact with the public requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Learning Outcomes:
This is an excellent opportunity to break into the sports industry. The internship will provide the candidate with a wide range of experience and opportunity to learn about the many facets of sport. You will be involved in all day-to-day operations of The Cyclops, actively working within several areas of the Southwest Cyclops scope of business, such as Marketing, Ticket Sales, Retail Sales, Branding, Corporate Sponsorship, and Event Management. Roles/Responsibilities

  • Generating the maximum revenue for The Cyclops through the sale of tickets.
  • Making outbound calls to targeted lists of past ticket purchasers for the purpose of increasing spending and/or frequency.
  • Becoming proficient in all CLax properties, notably the Ticket Sales properties.
  • Working closely with supervisor to maintain a positive and balanced work environment for all Southwest Cyclops staff.
  • Renewing and growing existing client relationships through over delivery and exceptional customer service.
  • Reviewing, proofing and producing communications and marketing pieces as well as coordinating all Ticket Sales electronic mailings.
  • Providing administrative support as necessary for Managers and Directors.
  • Assisting with Human Resources functions as it relates to the ticket sales department.
  • Meeting all pre-determined activity and revenue goals by providing weekly sales reports to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Business, Marketing, Sport Management or related field of study (degree/diploma/certificate program)
  • Demonstrated commitment to the following 10 qualities: integrity, work ethic, positive attitude, results, teamwork, independence, creativity, confidence, leadership, and urgency.
  • Strong understanding of MS Office Applications
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential for a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for sports and sports business
  • Able to work 40 hours/week (Full Time) or A minimum of 1 day/week (Part Time).
