WHO WE ARE:
Located on the outskirts of London, Camp Discovery is an overnight summer camp for children and youth living with type 1 diabetes operated by the Canadian Diabetes Association. Our goal is to inspire independence through experiential learning to provide our campers with the tools to effectively self-manage their diabetes. Sounds complicated, right? To break it down, we teach our campers how to take care of their health through learning by doing. Real world experiences helping kids to help themselves. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, keep reading.
WHO WE ARE SEEKING:
Do you have a passion for working with children and helping others succeed? What about empowering people to learn more about their diabetes and build self-management skills. We value a team approach where we work together to make the best possible summer experience for each one of our campers. If you’ve got a smile on your face and a bounce in your step, you’re on the right track. Our staff are some of the best in the province and we would love to have you join our team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Working with the rest of the multi-disciplinary health team and with the one-of-a-kind kitchen staff you will ensure that all campers’ and staff’s dietary needs are met. You’ll support the awesome Registered Dietitians and learn along the way. Oh, and you’ll be able to participate in all of the fun activities and other parts of camp life!
