What you can expect to be doing in the role:
Communicate with internal departments and arrange delivery of finished product to the shipping department (pick up and deliver finished goods yourself as required) and examine, verify and compare against records to ensure accuracy of outgoing shipments as well as received goods and products.
Prepare and ensure proper documentation is included for both domestic and international shipments. Wrap, strap and label products for shipping and communicate pick-up and shipping instructions to carriers.
Track shipments and correspond with carriers to verify delivery; work with carriers to rectify late deliveries or misplaced shipments. Coordinate with agents and brokers as needed.
Record shipment data for reporting, accounting and record keeping purposes. Comply with established internal control procedures and follow organizational health and safety standards and legal regulations.
Support the Office Team with daily operations. This may include making arrangements for client visits (room booking, space preparation, catering, escorting guests), assisting with building administration activities (scoping required services, scheduling and escorting contractors), and addressing/resolving items identified by the Health and Safety committee.
Support building needs by performing or facilitating general repairs, maintenance, renovations and recycling projects. Our ideal candidate possesses a college diploma, Canadian Customs Specialist certification and shipping/receiving (domestic and international) experience. We will also consider those with experience in facility maintenance or office administration. Proficiency with MS Office is a must as is the ability to lift 50 lbs and work overtime during the week and on weekends as required.
