Position Overview:

The Copywriter is responsible for providing creative copy leadership through the development and production of copy that brings the Canada Goose brand and its products to life. Writing for a variety of touchpoints, both external and internal, this role includes writing copy for web, retail, print and digital advertising, social media, and sales and product materials. As an integral part of the Creative Team in the Marketing Department, you will attend creative briefings and product information meetings with various internal and cross-functional teams, including Digital, Brand, Customer Experience, Community Influencer Engagement, Public Relations, Visual Merchandising and Product Development. You will also work in tandem with our agency partners to bring global campaigns and other marketing strategies to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strong strategic, creative voice for all brand touchpoints
  • Develop best-in-class copy in alignment with omni-channel marketing objectives
  • Build out brand guidelines for voice and tone to be shared both internally and with external partners
  • Work together with the Creative Team to develop integrated creative concepts across all channels
  • Evolve creative concepts as required in partnership with the Art Director and Graphic Designers
  • Edit and proof copy to ensure it adheres to our editorial and creative standards
  • Liaise with cross-functional team members to clarify copy points and research as required
  • Fact-check copy with internal stakeholders and industry leaders

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • University degree or College diploma in related field (English, Journalism, Communications or Public Relations) or a combination of relevant education and work experience
  • 5-7 years of professional copywriting experience — agency experience is a benefit
  • Experience with product copywriting, outerwear and apparel industry

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Natural storyteller with a proven ability put it into written word for a number of formats
  • Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write in a range of voices and styles for varied projects and diverse audiences
  • Effective interviewer who listens well, and can research, gather and verify facts
  • Demonstrated proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with an appropriate sense of urgency
  • Superior knowledge of English language structure
  • Impeccable grammar, spelling and punctuation, and an excellent grasp of narrative
  • Exceptional attention to detail and committed to a high degree of accuracy
  • Creativity and demonstrated ability working in a fast paced environment with a high degree of change
  • Ability to multi- task and work efficiently under pressure
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • A clear sense of urgency to achieve results. A “can-do”, “let’s make it happen” attitude
