Come spend the summer on beautiful Gambier Island at Fircom! This 120-acre waterfront property is located 1 hour from downtown Vancouver and yet feels miles away from it all. In your free time you can grab some coworkers and go kayaking, canoeing, hiking, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, do archery, yoga, volleyball, or whatever quiet pursuit you enjoy.

The Rental Coordinator is a key position on the Fircom team. This person must love providing quality hospitality services and meeting new people. The right person will be adaptable to whatever challenges may arise and still have a smile on their face while problem solving. This role will do different types of work: cleaning and maintenance, inventory control, programming, front desk, and guest services. This position ensures guests have a fun, smooth guest experience at Fircom and want to come back again!

This is a full-time position working under our Business Operations Director from April until October, 2015. There is possibility of starting later and ending earlier for the right person.

- Pre and post group arrival cleaning and preparation of buildings, equipment and amenities: this includes doing laundry, scrubbing bathrooms, chopping wood, sweeping, mopping, mowing, checking kitchen supplies etc.
- Inventories includes ordering, monitoring, and stocking rental supplies across the whole site: linens, first aid supplies,
recreational equipment, kitchen equipment, tuck shop
- Acting as a first responder to medical emergencies on site
- Providing exceptional customer service and attention to the details that make one’s stay unforgettable
- Liaising with the city office to ensure complete understanding of the rental groups needs before they arrive and then emailing an update about additional charges or incidences after the group leaves
- Acting as the host for groups while on site. Problem solving is key!
- Planning and executing fun programming activities: archery, hiking, arts and crafts, wide field games, canoeing, kayaking, lifeguarding, wilderness pursuits.
- Developing programming manuals for different activities on site.
- Other duties as needed

- Be at least 19 years of age displaying the level of maturity required
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds and strong physical condition
- Good working knowledge of camping
- Ability to work independently and within a team and strong communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and possess strong attention to detail
- Current level 2 criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
- Valid Driver’s License
- Wilderness First Aid or Occupational First Aid
o (This can be taken upon acceptance of the job. If you finish the season you will be reimbursed for half the cost)

- Previous summer camp, outdoor centre, hospitality, tourism or programming experience

This position will be compensated with a monthly salary of $2,184. Room and board included.
