Position: Project Manager

Cameron + Associates Management Inc. is a full service commercial project management company representing clients across Canada and the US.

Position Summary: CAMi has need for a Project Manager to work with our team, representing clients on projects in Vancouver, the lower mainland and Victoria area. We are looking for a passionate Project Manager with a keen sense of commitment, who is looking to take on multiple projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic:

  • Perform all required estimating, scheduling, tender document preparation, awarding of contracts, design co-ordination as well as communication with clients and inspection agencies on behalf of the clients
  • Prepare capital budgets of hard & soft costs, and schedules, reporting regularly to the client
  • Coordinate tenant coordination, including approving Schedule C costs, approving tenant drawings, and monitoring tenant construction
  • Assist with negotiating and managing required third-party agreements, including consulting team and contractor(s), directing resources accordingly, subject to approval of the client
  • Manage building development and design process to include working drawings, receipt of all required municipal approvals, building signage, and occupancy permits
  • Assist with reviewing construction draws for projects

Pre-Construction

  • Estimating
  • Scheduling
  • Tendering
  • Design co-ordination, including tenant drawing submissions
  • Construction documentation

Construction

  • Construction supervision and tenant coordination
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with tender
  • Take corrective action as needed during projects and consult with President and other Project Managers to resolve arising issues
  • Cost monitoring
  • Communication with and reporting to the client

Post Construction

  • Manage commissioning, warranty follow-up, documentation turnover, including tenant as-built drawings
  • Communicate with and report to the client

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in construction and project management;
  • A degree/diploma in Architecture, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Project Management experience with similar responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Microsoft Project,
  • Proven technical skills in all relevant areas
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Must be proficient in managing construction risks
  • Must be proficient in construction estimating and cost controls;
  • Must be familiar with relevant regulatory requirements, including zoning, municipal approval processes, building codes, safety standards, fire safety standards and environmental regulations;
  • Must have a track record for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Ability to travel nationally.

Compensation:

Compensation will be assessed on a project by project basis with a performance bonus based on project milestones.
