Job Summary

The Corporate Event Specialist is the manager of a Cambridge Mill event. Days before the event takes place, the CES pours over the tiniest details. This individual knows that the success of the event is entirely dependant on preparation beforehand. They ensure that all product is in house, all rentals ordered, all timing in place, all staff are secured and ready. The Corporate Event Specialist leads the team throughout the service of the event and will leave no stone unturned to protect the integrity of the event and the happiness of the guests.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides impeccable service and acts as host to clients and their guests for Corporate Events
  • Greets event host/coordinator, answering any questions and providing accurate information in a timely manner
  • Efficiently coordinates all timing, AV equipment or rentals, take away gifts, etc
  • Creates, manages and communicates to team members a plan of execution for the event
  • Effectively leads the event team to ensure flawless execution of the event in accordance with Cambridge Mill’s high service standards
  • Ensures event timing is kept on track. Investigates and addresses any reasons for deviation from schedule
  • Coordinates with chefs and oversees the execution of food service
  • Consistently and discreetly checks details throughout the event
  • Provides management with a detailed summary of the event details and execution notes
  • Arrives to work promptly, well presented in perfect dress code with all tools for the job; ensures event staff follow the same standard
  • Oversees staff arrival timing, making any adjustments as necessary
  • Ensures all necessary rental orders are accurate and in place and that all product is stocked and available
  • Makes certain floor plan and all AV or decor is properly arranged according to BEO and client instructions
  • Maintains positive relationships within the team unit as well as with those outside of it, works together with others toward the common goal of success across the property
  • Willingly accepts additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit and graciously assists others in completing their tasks
  • Acts as an ambassador of the property, serving as liaison between guests and management, sales team, team members.
  • Leads by example, thinks proactively to provide smooth, unfettered service and finds creative solutions to any challenges that may arise
  • Liaises with event coordinators and operations managers to secure all details for each event and ensures the details are communicated to staff and vendors

Qualifications and Skills

Good Food and Wine Knowledge

Hospitality Service Experience

Must be articulate, polished, poised and professional

Would be an excellent position for a well-experienced fine dining server looking for a change
