Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Administrator is a member of the Accounting team responsible assisting with accounts payable functions of the Calgary Stampede. This position involves processing invoices and administrative duties related to accounts payable and other general office duties for the Business Services department.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include:
Reconcile Vendor Statements to ensure that invoices have been accounted for.
Review vendor invoices for proper approval and coding, preparing journal entries to correct any coding changes.
Process vendor invoices, expense claims, wire transfers and EFTs.
Along with the supervisor generate cheques for USD invoices, quick pays and regular runs for all entities.
Prepares journal entries as assigned by the Manager, Accounting.
Review expense accounts and wire transfer prior to the Banking Administrator making payment.
Prepares entries to allocate shared costs between departments.
Liaise with vendors and staff to ensure all invoices are properly processed.
Ensure that policies and procedures are being followed in regard to payments.
Void and reissue cheques as required.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
Provide backup support to Accounts Payable Supervisor and Administrative Assistant as required.
Other departmental duties as assigned.
General administrative duties to assist the Accounts Payable team and the Business Services department.
Qualifications
This opportunity is made possible by the Canada Summer Jobs Federal Funding program. To qualify as a candidate for this program you will need to hold the following qualifications:
Must currently be enrolled in Accounting or Bookkeeping at an accredited university or college.
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
Was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year.
Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year.
Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/ territorial legislation and regulations
*Foreign students are not eligible.
