Hello

We are a happy and calm family of three one week and a very busy family of five the next week, alternating week over week. Our 24month old son is in the home all the time and there are two teenagers, aged 14 and 15 that are with us every other week from a previous marriage.

We value a gentle disposition in our potential caregiver but one who can also instruct and interact with teenagers competently.

Your workday will be 7am to 5pm, three days per week, Tues Wed Thurs and flexible, with notice, to work Mon Tues Wed as needed. At this time there are not more than 30hrs per week available. If you are looking for more than 30 hrs per week with one family/job please apply with a family that can offer this to you. We will only need a caregiver until our son is school-age.

We also require strong English language skills in our caregiver; writing, reading, speaking and understanding. ESL applicants are invited if they possess strong English language skills.

Experience as a paid, unsupervised caregiver to preschoolers and teenagers needed. Education is an asset but not required.

Because we are busy it is important that our potential caregiver can prepare dinner regularly as planned and be prepared to drive or pick up the older children to and from school and activities as occasionally needed. Your driving record and transportation method will be discussed to determine how to best meet this requirement.

Overview of your duties with us:
Supervise and care for children in our residence

Dress preschooler, bathe as needed

Change diapers and assist or direct toilet training initiatives

Oversee children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by us

Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development

Tend to the emotional well-being of children

Discipline children according to the methods requested by us

Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise

Plan, prepare and serve meals for preschooler

May perform light housekeeping duties (preschooler’s and general household linen laundry-towels and washcloths only, keeping kitchen in good order, evening family meal preparation as directed)

Take children to and from school and to appointments as needed

Maintain a healthy environment in the home

Observe preschooler and prepare daily reports of activities, naps and toilet activities and his general mood for us

Report to us any areas of concern arising from observation and interaction with teenagers
