Job Description

Button Factory Arts in Uptown Waterloo is seeking 1 Events Coordinator to organize and host our Artist Alley event. An outdoor arts event displaying local artwork and entertainment. Event happens adjacent to Button Factory Arts in alleyway.

Event Dates:
June 24th
July 15th, 16th, 17th
August 25th, 26th, 27th

DUTIES:

  • Documentation, Organization, and Advertising event structure for Artist Alley events.
  • Recruitment of volunteers, participating artists, public entertainment, and event sponsors.
  • Assist with event facilitation and implementation.
  • Interact with general public, interpersonal skills.
  • Attend all 3 Artist Alley Events
  • Completion of summary report

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be between the ages of 18-25
  • Must be returning student
  • Flexible Schedule: days, evenings, weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be enrolled in post-secondary education, in following disciplines, or related disciplines: Recreation & Leisure, Event Management, Arts & Culture, etc.
  • Some event planning experience.
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office Applications
  • Ability to work large groups of people.

Button Factory Arts is a not-for-profit, charitable organization. It exists to promote all forms of art programs including: performances, classes, workshops, special events and art exhibitions. The Button Factory Arts Centre offers programming for children, youth and seniors, covering all artistic disciplines and levels of achievement from amateur to professional.
This is a part time position that runs from June 7 to August 30, 2016 with various hours.
