The Accounting Officer, Operations, reviews, evaluates and process all authorized transactions and amendments to customer accounts. He or she works with other departments to ensure that supporting documentation adheres to BDC procedures and ensures follow-up when corrective measures need to be taken. Furthermore, he/she supports field staff by answering questions brought to his/her attention.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Ensure the integrity, completeness, accuracy and control of data in the processing systems by reviewing, evaluating and processing all authorized transactions in the system in accordance with BDC policies and procedures
  • Process amendments and changes to customer accounts in the systems by reviewing and assessing all supporting documents and ensuring that they are appropriate, properly authorized and in accordance with policies and procedures, while keeping the branches informed of any changes made to customer accounts
  • Promptly resolve all difficult transactions brought to his/her attention by contacting field staff to recommend action to be taken, initiating corrective actions pertaining to customer accounts monitoring and following-up on such recommendations
  • Ensure that all payments are properly applied against customer files and evaluate their conformity with BDC policies and procedures while also ensuring their timely processing
  • Maintain a hotline service to branches by making recommendations and suggestions to them in servicing the needs of their customers in the most courteous way and provide ongoing coaching to field staff

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • University degree in administration or accounting (completed or in progress)
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting or in a financial institution
  • Sound knowledge of BDC products, policies & procedures an asset
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices an asset
  • Ability to ensure excellent liaison with users in the field at all levels and provide high quality customer service
  • Meticulous and accurate in information processing
  • Autonomous and able to organize work within tight deadlines
  • Team player
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Bilingual (oral and written)
