As a User Research Specialist at BuildDirect, you will be the voice and advocate of our customers as we design, refine and validate our technology. You’ll talk with a variety of user groups in a fast-paced environment where your findings will have an impact on the direction of product and design. Your skills in identifying clear research goals, ability to communicate and connect with stakeholders and passion for creating the ultimate customer journey are all things that you have that will make a difference to the UX team here at BuildDirect.

What You’ll Do
Identify and clarify user research goals and the right tools to use them
Engage our customers to better understand their habits and workflows
Design a research plan scheduling and facilitating customer interactions to support UX projects
Partner with Marketing and Sales to build a database of customers to take part in usability testing and research
Engage other business team stakeholders to better understand their habits and workflows
Validate UX design work through executing or facilitating usability testing
Analyze data, preparing findings in reports, videos, personas and storyboards. Present actionable recommendations to the relevant teams, partnering where needed.
Support the UX team by creating customer workflows based on research findings
Facilitate conversations with Product Management if there is data to support their initiatives
Be the voice and advocate of the customer, constantly sharing data and insights with the business

What You’ll Achieve
Identify research goals and design a research plan to achieve these goal within 2 months
Create user profiles that all squads can use and refer to
Be part of the bridge for the Marketing team and Technology team
Analyze data that will change the direction of a product

What You Need to Know
At least 5 years’ experience working in consumer research, including technology/eCommerce
Bachelor level degree in a relevant area, Masters qualifications are an asset
Demonstrated experience developing and conducting user research, both qualitative and quantitative
Ability to create efficient test plans and make the most of time spent with users
Experience developing personas, scenarios and workflows based on user research
Familiarity working in agile product development background an asset
Demonstrated ability to analyze research and testing results to generate actionable recommendations
