As the Data Warehouse Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, management and deployment of the data warehouse. The Data Warehouse Database Administrator will apply proven experience and knowledge in databases, ETL, and data warehouses to optimize the organization’s data access, extraction and analysis.
What You’ll Do
Work with the analytics team to gather project requirements with focus on ETL and data warehouse
Provide high-level design, architecture and resource/cost estimates for ETL and data warehouse solutions
Implement a new ETL and data warehouse solution
Make data modeling recommendations based on customer needs
Conduct research and provide advice to DBA and analytics professionals regarding the selection, application, and implementation of database management tools
Create and maintain detailed design documents outlining proposed solutions
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues for the deployed data warehouse solutions and perform root cause analysis
Provide database support and maintain support documentation in accordance with internal standards
Work with the software R&D team to create detailed feature requirements
Extract and format various internal and external data sources to build and manage the data warehouse
Plan and administer backup and disaster recovery procedures
Perform regular system checks to maintain and improve data warehouse and other IT infrastructure
Develop reports and documentation
Assist end-users in accessing the data warehouse and other IT tools
What You’ll Achieve
Architect an optimized data warehouse from disparate data sources, including user-friendly access
Ensure user satisfaction through ongoing training and support
Apply industry best practices to improve the data warehouse and other IT systems and enable comprehensive analytics
What You Need to Know
3– 5 years of database administrator experience in OLAP, SSIS, and SSRS, including 2+ years with data warehouses and ETL
Advanced understanding of ETL, data modeling and data warehousing architecture and design
High levels of integrity and a commitment to do what you say you are going to do
An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learn and continuously improve
Results oriented and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and orientation to deadlines
Collaborative with experience working in an agile development environment
Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to identify problems and solutions
Post-secondary education in related fields
