Open a world of possibilities for our suppliers in a highly strategic role that will drive the evolution of BuildDirect’s vision and platform.
As General Manager, Seller Services, you will develop a strategy and business model to grow the revenue and adoption rates of suppliers, enabling our online marketplace. You will lead the thinking that helps drive key growth opportunities and your experience and perspective will help guide us to make important strategic growth decisions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be part of the BuildDirect Executive team.
What You’ll Do
In this leadership role, you will:
Define and execute the strategy and business model to grow seller services and launch an online marketplace with immediate scale
Leverage and manage cross-functional resources to identify technology, marketing, sales, supply chain etc. requirements to deliver and monetize seller services
Determine business processes to support seller services strategy and the marketplace
Utilize a data driven approach to define new services, revenue streams and opportunities for growth
Accountable for all decisions impacting the success of the BuildDirect Marketplace, with responsibility for the P&L
Make a recommendation on the size of team needed for this business and then create and grow the team, either through external hiring or internal development.
Build and lead a high performing, cross-functional Seller Services team through hiring, mentoring and development.
What You’ll Achieve
Create and execute a business strategy and model that grows capacity (suppliers and products) and generates a self-funding revenue stream
Achieve targets of 100,000 net new skus
Getting existing suppliers onboard and functioning within the seller platform
Develop strong relationships
Build a pipeline of new suppliers and products which accelerates entry into the BuildDirect Warehouse Program
Master’s level degree in business administration or related field required
10 years of proven leadership experience within a fast growing e-commerce company, including management of a highly motivated professional team.
10 years experience defining and developing new market opportunities or products and services in innovative environments
8+ years of proven ability to build new revenue streams and build scalable business model
10 years experience within an eCommerce and/or Platform company
Strategic thinker with the ability to operationalize solutions to drive results
Strong collaboration skills with demonstrated experience building relationships
Recognized leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire action

Annual Salary: $390,000-$430,000 + discretionary bonus up to 20%
Benefits: Approved expenses reimbursed, including accommodation costs
