Coupled with their forward thinking and with a vision of an optimistic future, this organization’s vision to profitably grow through current assets and through future legacy assets and LNG projects with a global reach make them an exciting and challenging place to work.Job DescriptionDrive superior results in the management of IT projects throughout the project life cycle from original concept through project closure.Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders regarding project goals, objectives, deliverables, plans, and status throughout the project.Lead project resources to achieve project goals, including oversight and management of external resources and global virtual teams.
Act as a liaison between the business partner and IT in developing the project’s business case to quantify expected business value. Monitor and control business value realization process.Collect and document business requirements, functional specifications / use cases and user interface designs (UI), business/data process workflow as-is /to-be state.Translate functional specifications / use cases and user interface (UI) design documents to technical team (i.e. Developers).Create, track, and manage comprehensive, realistic project schedules and measure progress regularly.
Understand and apply IT project management principles and tools.Job RequirementsMinimum of seven years experience managing IT projects between CAD$100M – CAD$3MM;
Experience using business analysis/project management methodologies and tools such as Agile, Rational Unified Process (RUP); Use Cases, UML, MS Project, MS Visio;
Proven ability to solve complex problems and work under tight deadlines;Strong written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills to be able to interface with colleagues at all levels;Experience leading teams, managing vendors, and working in a team environment. Able to influence and motivate others to deliver project objective. Leading virtual teams in a global organization;Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;5 years proven experience creating complex detailed project plans and framing/business case;Advanced functional skills with all Microsoft products for project management – Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project and Project Server;Skilled in all facets of project management: Scope Management, Cost and Schedule Management, Risk Management, Change Management, Resource Management, and Transition to Support.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology discipline;CBA and/or PMP Certification;ERP experience;Familiar with software quality assurance testing and behavior change management concepts;Previous Upstream Oil and Gas industry experience;Experience with PMO and/or IT governance processes.
