Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the continuous operation of our information technology network and business systems
  • Monitor network to ensure policies are adhered to
  • Assist in the implemention of new policies and procedures related to IT
  • Liaise with our network providers and software companies for our networking solutions
  • Administer phone network with VOIP
  • Ensure networks are backed up daily
  • Ensuring we are compliant with our Brand policies.
  • Stay current on new technologies that may bring efficiency to the organization
  • Provide end-user support with respect to computer hardware and applications
  • Troubleshooting user problems as needed
  • Conduct frequent audits to ensure network efficiency and making recommendations to management.
  • Track inventory of all assets
  • Identify and correct and problems in relation to security
  • Source new technical equipment and find the best solution for our needs

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one year work experience supporting network users
  • Practical experience in software development, integration, and deployment
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server Platforms
  • Experience implementing and/or maintaining a backup and disaster recovery systems
  • Show initiative and creativity in providing solutions
  • Possess a sincere desire to provide excellent customer service
  • Capability to prioritize and multitask; organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical system errors and produce resolutions in a timely manner
  • Willing to travel to other locations within Nova Scotia

Other Requirements:

  • Be a graduate of a college or university program.
  • Be between 19 and 30 years of age.
  • Not have an open claim with Employment Insurance.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Not have relevant previous work experience
