The BCIT Foundation department has an exciting opportunity for a fundraising professional with experience in leading and developing successful programs. As a member of the BCIT Foundation’s Annual Giving team, your expertise and knowledge with student awards will allow you to take a leadership role in raising funds for scholarships and bursaries that directly help BCIT students achieve their career goals.

Working closely with colleagues within the Advancement Division and across BCIT, you will successfully renew donor support and build the donor base for student awards. This regular, full-time Coordinator position is a key member of a dynamic and professional Advancement team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive program to effectively support and facilitate the acquisition, renewal and upgrade of annual and endowed award donors and identify award needs.
  • Representing the Foundation, upon request, to present the donor funded awards program to internal and external groups.
  • Identifying and researching prospective award donors and makes recommendations for donor proposals.
  • Renewing and upgrading annual donor support through targeted campaigns.
  • Coordinating procedures to collect pledges and acknowledge receipt of gifts.
  • Monitoring institute priorities and education program intakes and credentials to ensure donors direct their gifts appropriately.
  • Providing statistical and other information on the annual and endowed scholarship, bursary and awards program to the management team.

QUALIFICATIONS*:

  • Grade 12 plus completion of a two year diploma in fundraising, business or communications including courses in technical communications.
  • Two years general office experience plus four years relevant experience in this or related positions inside or outside the Institute.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Microsoft Office at an intermediate level with proven proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using fundraising database software, (i.e., Raisers Edge) and online content management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a team player and work independently.
  • Must have considerable initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, implement, oversee and coordinate complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies to target specific profiles and interests.

*Please note: These are the minimum required qualifications. This position is a dayshift position as defined in Article 14.1 of the Collective Agreement.

START DATE: August 15, 2016
SALARY RANGE: Pay Grade 9; $51,692 with yearly increments to $56,157 per annum.
