The Lead,
Process Excellence will report to the Manager, Business Transformation. They will be responsible for managing
continuous improvement efforts, operating model performance improvement and
benchmarking activities. Additionally, the Lead, Process Excellence will liaise
between the asset and functional units to conduct benchmarking studies and
enable performance improvement throughout the organization.

This position is based in
the Calgary Head Office.

Responsibilities

Lead the
establishment of a standardized process/TOM (Target Operating Model)
performance measurement model that can generate an accurate baseline from which
business improvements can be identified, implemented, measured and tracked.

Lead the
performance benchmarking program to identify the root cause of performance gaps
and to develop continuous improvement initiatives that improve performance.

Manage
multiple performance monitoring and benchmarking projects throughout the
organization at any given point in time.

Partner
collaboratively with key stakeholders in asset and functional units to
understand performance goals, to monitor and track operating model performance,
to design benchmarking studies and to execute continuous improvement programs.

Define
the organization’s set of best practices regarding performance improvement and
benchmarking.

Responsible
for driving process standardization across the organization.

Responsible
for improving the performance improvement and benchmarking processes as part of
the Business Transformation continuous improvement effort.

Conduct
opportunity identification and change implementation for end-to-end processes
across the organization.

Develop
process control methodology, conduct modifications and obtain approval on
procedures; incorporate these procedures into the process excellence culture
within the organization.

Drive
continues process improvement throughout the organization by identifying
process issues; implements new solutions to address these issues in
coordination with functional process owners.

Support
recruiting, staffing, and onboarding processes within the Business Transformation
groups, as appropriate.

Manage
the training program to ensure that it is comprehensive, enhances internal
process design and develops the required capabilities.

Oversee performance management processes (e.g., goal setting, performance
evaluation, etc.); complete performance evaluations for direct reports.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in business required.

Master’s
in Business Administration, Economics or statistics related field an asset

Six
Sigma certification or other process improvement certification preferred

10
years’ experience in continuous improvement, benchmarking, process
re-engineering and program management

Experience
with operating model performance improvement and benchmarking tools and
methodologies

Experience
in the oil and gas industry preferred

Demonstrated
leadership skills and ability to effectively manage resources (personnel,
projects, funds and reputation)

Confident
and effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the
ability to respond appropriately, and maintain a mutual comfort level while
relating to a diverse group of individuals

Skillful
listener with an open style; good at facilitating discussion

Demonstrated
skills in problem solving, team building and total quality management

Ability
to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and
maintaining good working relationship with both internal and external clients

Demonstrated
analytical skills and excellent ability to communicate results and

Excellent
understanding of organizational and business strategy and goals and clear
knowledge of business issues and processes

Ability
to lead continuous improvement programs based off of root cause analysis
studies

Demonstrated

with continuous improvement programs
