Program title:

Student Employment Experience Development

Program description:

The Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) Program pairs post-secondary students with New Brunswick employers during the summer months. Prospective employers can fill an online posting to offer jobs to students who received a voucher. The vouchers issued to some students qualify them for the program. Those students will then be able to choose to apply for the positions most suited to them. The program operates on a grant basis and employers are reimbursed at a minimum wage rate for a predetermined period of 8 or 10 weeks for a maximum of 35 hours a week. In order to be eligible to receive a student, the employer must either be a municipality, a non-for-profit organization, a private sector business, a First Nation community, the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture (Museum, visitor information center or provincial park only) or the Department of Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour (Public libraries only). The online application will be open next year.
