Page Content Reporting to the FMO Projects Manager, the Building Operator will maintain safe conditions inside and outside of the facilities, performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs, as well as using the computerized building management system; to permit operations 24 hours a day and 7 days per week. Duties will also include conducting mechanical inspections and maintenance of equipment using FMO strategies to ensure continuing operation. The qualified individual will utilize experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements.
Responsible for maintaining all office and public spaces in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety Standards including, but not limited to: VIP rooms, barracks, common rooms, common washrooms, auditoriums, mechanical rooms, pump rooms, HVAC, gymnasium equipment areas, washers, dryers, fridges, stoves, locker tops, floors, toilets, urinals, doors, desks, microwave oven, coffee makers, windows, handrails, furniture, ashtrays, radiators, fire appliances, and waste receptacles.
Provide miscellaneous cleaning for both minor and major emergency calls.
Safe handling and disposal of all waste materials.
Advise Supervisor of all deficiencies, supplies, and consumable items on an ongoing basis.
Follow the departmental operations and procedures manual and the contingency plan in order to provide coverage 24 hours a day and 7 days per week.
Responsible for the quality of service provided and taking appropriate corrective actions.
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
May move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
May supervise other workers.
Light maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Respond to environment/comfort complaints.
Relamping; reset breakers.
Perform shift tours and log readings.
Respond to demand/emergency calls.
Start and stop equipment.
Filter and belt changes.
Minor plumbing repairs, clear toilets, sinks, and drains.
All general maintenance duties.β
