Family School Liaison Worker
Community Attachment Purpose (CAP) Summer School

CAP Summer School hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday – Friday, July 2 – July 20 2018, including the weekend of
July 14/15 for an overnight camping trip. Our summer school program includes credits for CALM 20, Physical Education
10, HCS 3000 and CTR 1010. We will be participating in such activities as: surfing, a 5km foam run, Snow Valley Aerial
Park, canoeing, yoga, survival skills and lots of walking.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in completing the required course work
  • Help facilitate partnerships between home, school, and community agencies
  • Implement skill-based and strength-based interventions for students such as building resiliency, development of
social skills, problem solving skills, self-awareness, anxiety reduction
  • Actively participate in all summer school activities

Qualifications:

  • A degree/diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care Work or related health/education field and registered to

practice in Alberta

  • Experience in working in the education and/or health care field
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of Black Gold Regional Division No. 18 schools and community agencies is an asset

Salary Range and Work year:

  • 3 week position
  • Salary ranges from $3,835.29 – $6,772.63 based on experience and education for the three week term
  • As a condition of employment, new employees are required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and

Intervention Record Check at their own expense (prior to starting employment)
