Job Summary

The Resource Manager is responsible for leading their team to monitor and implement ongoing support resources for Bigstone Cree Nation members. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of BCN Child and Family Services and is responsible for managing the Resource Team, developing and maintaining a resource budget and evaluating the ongoing process of active resources.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and propose new resources to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcomes of resources
  • Develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the resources
  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the resources and to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop funding proposals for the programs to ensure the continuous delivery of resources
  • Ensure that resources operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards
  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback
  • Develop resources and relationships with community partners
  • Organize events and/or participate in community events promoting services
  • Liaise with other managers and supervisors to ensure the effective and efficient operations
  • Write reports on the resources for management and for funders
  • Ensure that the resources operate within the approved budget
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted program expenditures
  • Report evaluation findings to the Director of Programs and recommend changes to enhance the resources, as appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Social Work or Human Services or Management
  • Knowledge of resource development
  • Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the program area
  • 3 or more years’ experience in a role developing and delivering community related resources
  • Experience in the public or non-profit sector
  • clear CYIM and Child intervention check
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • submit a criminal record check

CONTRACT – January 2018 – March 2019 with a possibility of an extension
