Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver (BBGV) mission is to enhance children’s social and emotional development by delivering and advocating for the highest quality, prevention-based mentoring programs.

As a key member of our Marketing and Communications Team, the Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for the implementation of marketing strategies and tactics for Renew Crew Foundation, and fundraising related events.

This is an exciting, permanent full-time opportunity based in our Vancouver location.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are the key duties and responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Officer:

  • Fundraising Events Campaign Marketing
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to support the objectives of the Bowl for Big Brothers Classic and the Big Brothers Golf Classic
  • Responsible for writing copy, in-house design, liaising with creative agency, developing campaign related content, and other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for the development of the CRM program, relationship management, and promotional marketing implementation
  • Clothing Donation Marketing
  • Implement marketing strategies and tactics of Clothing Donation campaigns
  • Develop the content and design for marketing material and coordinate production for both the local and Edmonton operations
  • Act as the community manager for social media channels as it pertains to Clothing Donation and work closely with the Marketing and Communications Specialist on communications
  • Organize events as assigned and liaise with potential clothing drive partners
  • General Marketing Across Agency
  • Maintain the website sections for fundraising events and clothing donation
  • Contribute to agency’s social media and content sharing activities
  • Provide in-house design for advertising, print-promotional material, digital assets, communications etc. as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the principal qualifications for this position:

Education – Diploma or degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field

Experience – Minimum of three years related work experience in marketing and communications; experience in event marketing is an asset

Skills -

  • Ability to effectively coordinate projects to support larger objectives
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong copywriting and content development skills
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute in-house graphic design projects (Intermediate level)
  • Demonstrated abilities using Microsoft Office, InDesign, WordPress, email marketing, and social media platforms
