Bowl for Kids Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ signature fundraising campaign. Throughout the campaign period, individuals, teams and companies raise pledges to support the organization. On April 13th, 14th & 20th, 2018, all teams will attend bowling events to celebrate and acknowledge their fundraising efforts.

Working with the Community Engagement and Philanthropy team, the Bowl for Kids Sake Coordinator will be responsible to assist with planning and implementing this major fundraising campaign. The focus of the position will be team recruitment, logistics and fundraising support to achieve the financial goals of the initiative. The ideal candidate will be competent at the following skills:

  • Comfort and confidence in making phone calls to businesses to encourage involvement in the campaign. This includes warm leads (past participants) and cold leads (potential new participants).
  • Energetic, positive approach.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and technical ability to manage the administration and user support of an online fundraising platform.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Enthusiasm for and ability to champion the cause.
  • Creative approach to engaging the community. Comfort in approaching the public during outreach events at malls, businesses and other public venues.
  • Demonstrated ability in stewarding relationships with event participants in a professional and organized manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with multiple priorities. Self-motivated to achieve goals.
  • Organizational ability related to managing workflow and planning logistics for event execution.
  • Experience in a call-centre or face-to-face sales is an asset.

In addition, the successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle since this position will include ongoing meetings with participants at their locations, community outreach activities, presentations and event logistics tasks. This position requires a flexible schedule, with periodic work done outside of regular office hours, including some weekends. Candidate must be available for extended time during the event days.

Full-time contract position (37.5 hour per week), beginning January 22, 2018 and ending May 4, 2018).

Salary: $15.50 /hour
