Better Choice Staffing is looking to recruit a Technical Support Specialist for one of our clients in Victoria.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical support to corporate computer clients as required.
- Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, and e-mail requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
- Logs and tracks calls using problem management database, and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
- Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user’s premises.
- Coordinates activities with helpdesk, network services, or other information systems groups.
- Manages warranty and RMA concerns escalated from Helpdesk.
- Other duties relating to Information Systems as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Understands a networked computer environment
- Effectively manage many tasks simultaneously.
- Effectively assess and resolve technical problems via phone, e-mail and using remote management software.
- Work in a busy, high pressure environment.
- Liaise effectively between clients and technical staff.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 7)
- Familiarity with network printing, printer sharing, and network printing devices. – Familiarity with Microsoft Office 2007, 2010, and 3013
- Ability to recognize and distinguish between software and hardware problems. – Knowledge of PC hardware.

Familiarity with the following is beneficial:

  • Knowledge of Incident Tracking systems / process.
  • Microsoft or A+ certifications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in personal computer, customer service, helpdesk, or other appropriate technology support.
  • 1 year (or equivalent) of relevant education containing computer related coursing
