Position Title: WorkBC Client Advisor – Policy & Training Coordinator

Days/Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, 37.5 hours per week

Remuneration: BCGEU Stand Alone Grid

Status: Regular 37.5 hours/week

Reporting to the Director of Employment Services, the WorkBC Client Advisor-Policy & Training Coordinator joins a multi-faceted team who are making a difference in people’s lives every day. In addition to managing a small caseload of clients, this position provides training to new Client Advisors and support to the WorkBC team regarding EPBC policy and processes. This role supports the WorkBC Program through the coordination of reports and by reviewing cases on a regular basis to ensure billing is maximized.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in related field and/or combination of education and experience (Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) or Career Counsellor Certification preferred)
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience working with unemployed individuals, including those with barriers to employment and/or disabilities to assess needs and in coordinating client supports and services
  • Experience in community relations preferred, such as liaising with chambers, business associations, community serving agencies and other employment service providers
  • Knowledge of local community resources, including funding resources and sources and eligibility for clients to access resources preferred
  • Aware of current national, regional and local labour market
  • WHMIS Certification (to be renewed annually)

  • Skilled in the use of computers, the internet, Microsoft Outlook and electronic devices
  • Knowledge and experience with WorkBC Program and Ministry Integrated Case Management (ICM) database and EPBC Extranet required
