The Ministry of Advanced Education provides leadership and direction for the world class post-secondary education and training system in British Columbia. The post-secondary education system in B.C. is comprised of: 25 public institutions; 19 private and out-of-province public degree-granting institutions; 15 seminaries and theological colleges; approximately 40 Aboriginal controlled institutes; over 310 registered private career training institutions; and language schools and other institutions that host international students.

The Chief Information Officer provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology solutions and initiatives that improve cost effectiveness, service quality and access to services of the Ministry of Advanced Education that are aligned with Ministry and government directions.

To be considered for this position your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have the following:

• Completion of a degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in information management and/or information technology or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.

• Extensive recent, related experience including:

– Strategic planning and business transformation in a technology-dependent business area or information systems branch.

– Leading, developing and implementing information management and information technology policies, programs and projects in a complex systems environment including data security and data management.

– Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on complex joint technology projects and programs.

– Negotiating and managing information technology contracts.

– Managing professional staff, project teams and divisional budgets.
