Salary: $50,604.11 – $57,493.77 per annum

The Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB) is one of Canada’s largest distributors and retailers of beverage alcohol. At the Liquor Distribution Branch we are driven by innovation and have a passion for the future and are looking for a dynamic professional to join our team.
The Network Analyst supports the day-to-day operation and on-going enhancement of the LDB’s sophisticated data and voice network communications infrastructure. The Analyst is an expert in one or more specific technologies; and a generalist in other networking technologies. The role involves leading the design, configuration, testing, installation and evaluation of network-related changes to ensure they achieve business requirements. In addition to providing Tier 2 support, the position leads the resolution of issues with external service providers. The position works as part of a team of highly skilled technicians, and collaborates with internal and external contacts to achieve objectives.

Education and Experience:
A degree or diploma in IT network communications or a related field, and a minimum of 4 years of recent related experience*
- Recent, related experience must include:
Planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating network communications technologies
Achieving desired technical and business results within timelines
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal/external clients, colleagues and contractors
Preference may be given to candidates with any of the following:
Payment Card Industry [PCI] certification
Cisco Certified Network Associate [CCNA] or Cisco Certified Network Professional [CCNP] or other current, relevant, IT professional designation
Experience working for an employer similar in size and scope to LDB operations
IT data network foundations and the associated infrastructure and underlying technologies and security standards
trends, developments and best practices in all aspects of network communications
multiple operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix)
network hardware/software; voice over IP; structured cabling; central management tools; virtual private network [VPN] access technologies; wireless technologies; routing technologies/configurations; domain name [DNS] standards; enterprise monitoring
Payment Card Industry [PCI] standards, methods and best practices
IT data network security and risk management principles
Skills and Abilities:
Well-developed written and oral communication, presentation / facilitation and inter-personal skills and attention to detail when communicating, and the ability to communicate complex matters in a manner that can be understood by the audience
Excellent analytical and judgement abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce results within deadlines
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team while maintaining productive working relationships
