The Ministry of Health (the Ministry) is responsible for maintaining an accessible, high quality, affordable system for health service delivery that meets the needs of the citizens of the Province of British Columbia. Its mandate is to support and enhance a responsive, comprehensive, regionalized health care system that promotes and provides for the physical, mental and community health of all British Columbians. The Finance and Corporate Services Division supports the Ministry Executive and programs by managing and ensuring a consistent approach to financial and corporate issues.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Audit and Investigations Branch, the Director of BIP is responsible for supervising a staff of professional auditors engaged in audits and highly sensitive investigations. The position is responsible for: the audits of medical and healthcare practitioners to ensure services were rendered, eligible for payment, medically necessary, billed correctly and properly documented.
