Annual Salary: $72,000 – $100,000

The Risk Management Branch is accountable for managing the risk to which the provincial public sector is exposed by virtue of its assets, programs and operations and includes responsibility for risk mitigation, risk financing, risk identification and transfer and risk management consulting and advising. The Branch has four major roles: program development and delivery, central agency authority including policy development, claims and litigation management, and consulting and advisory services.

The Manager, Financial Planning, Reporting and Administration is responsible for managing the Risk Management Branch’s $50,000,000.00 (approx.) per year operating budget including directing the administration, management and control of all the Branch’s financial functions to ensure the fiscal accountability and viability for the delivery of programs and services. The Branch has four major roles: program development and delivery, central agency authority including policy development, claims and litigation management, and consulting and advisory services. This position is responsible for optimizing the effectiveness of financial management and budget planning strategies to contribute to the Ministry’s strategic goal of effective financial and resource management and reporting. The Manager is ultimately accountable for the management of the Insurance and Risk Management Account (IRMA). IRMA is a special account that is a component of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, has statutory authority and is reported in the financial statement of the Province, the Public Accounts and the Estimates.
