Annual Salary: $49,431.92 – $56,219.57

A permanent appointment may result from this temporary assignment. We welcome applications throughout the province, however, as this is a temporary opportunity, there will be no relocation expense reimbursement.

The Ministry of Agriculture works to promote an innovative, adaptive and globally competitive agrifoods sector for the benefit of all British Columbians. The agrifoods sector – which includes agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and processing – is an important and successful contributor to the B.C. economy, and has responded vigorously to challenges and opportunities. The Ministry’s support of healthy and safe agrifood and seafood production and post-production processing provides new and value-added products for domestic and international markets, contributing to B.C. jobs and the economy as well as to diversified rural communities.

As Project Coordinator, you will report to the Manager, Technology and Transformation and be responsible for coordinating business transformation projects with significant internal impact to the business. During this temporary appointment, you will be working primarily on the cross-government Internet Strategy and coordinating the redesign and migration of the ministry’s web content.

You will be accountable for defining and guiding all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule and specified quality. To be successful in this position, you will need to have strong and effective communication, attention to detail and organizational skills. In addition, you will be directly accountable for assigned portions of larger project components as a project team member.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position your application must clearly demonstrate that you have the following:

– A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, computer science or related discipline and one year of related experience; OR,

– A certificate or diploma and two years of related experience; OR,

– An equivalent combination of related experience, education and/or training, such as three or more years of project related experience.

Related experience includes:

– Experience providing project management and coordination services for assigned projects.

– Experience in directing the work of staff resources.

– Experience with content management systems, static HTML and/or Dreamweaver.

– Experience writing and editing for a web audience.

– Experience dealing with senior managers and other government officials.

– Experience using MS Office Suite, i.e. MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.

– Preference may be given to applicants with formal education/training or two years of experience in project management.

– Preference may be given to applicants with a minimum of two years of experience with web development.

– Preference may be given to applicants with experience or training with UX or search engine optimization.
