AO21 Salary: $54,414.97 to $ 62,042.70 annually
AO18 Salary: $49,917.96 to $ 56,739.27 annually

2 Temporary Opportunities – 1 TA to July 31, 2017 and 1 TA to March 31, 2017; these temporary assignments (TA) may be extended. Regular employees must have their supervisor’s approval prior to applying for a temporary assignment.
This competition is geographically restricted to applicants from the Lower Mainland.
An eligibility list may be established for future similar temporary opportunities.
The Public Guardian and Trustee is a corporation sole, established under the Public Guardian and Trustee Act with a unique statutory role to protect the interests of British Columbians who lack legal capacity to protect their own interests. The mandate of the PGT is to protect the legal and financial interests of children under the age of 19 years; protect the legal, financial, and in some cases, personal and health care interest of adults who require assistance in decision making; and administer the estates of deceased and missing persons. The Public Guardian and Trustee is independent of government in its case-related decision making responsibilities.
If you are a proactive multi-tasker, here is your opportunity to work in a dynamic team. As Estate Administrator, you will manage a caseload of estate administration files for deceased and missing persons who were resident in or have assets located within the region or estates in which the PGT is acting in the capacity of Administrator, Executor and Trustee or Curator.
You will use your strong analytical, investigative and communication skills to deal with various public groups such as: Coroners, Hospitals, Police, RCMP, financial institutions and the Ministry of Social Development.
Lesser qualified applicants who do not have the education or direct experience with a caseload of estates, trusts, genealogical research, bankruptcies or estate planning may be appointed at the Administrative Officer Range 18 level. Lesser qualified applicants bring a strong background in law or business with several years progressive and relevant experience. For example, less qualified applicants may include an experienced financial planner, a broker, mutual fund advisor or an individual with banking experience or insolvency work.
Successful applicants will be subject to a comprehensive security record check, including a criminal record review, a police record check, personal bankruptcy check and other personal and educational background checks. Placement in a Public Guardian and Trustee position is subject to the successful results of an enhanced security clearance check.
