To follow all LDB policies and practices affecting the ongoing maintenance of the organization’s Headquarters buildings and Distribution Centre. As such, this position is concerned with the cost effective maintenance of LDB buildings, building systems (e.g. heating, air conditioning, etc.) and infrastructure such as will satisfy all applicable Government Regulations (both provincial and local) and ensure that organizational objectives are sustained as they affect the safety, comfort and convenience of both staff and LDB customers. Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Coordinator, this position is responsible for monitoring building systems daily, identifying areas in need of repair or upgrading and reporting findings to the supervisor. The Maintenance Utility Worker acts as a technical liaison between outside contractors and the supervisor, providing them with detail on the building complex services, and evaluating the effectiveness of repairs.

To be considered for this position your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have the following education and experience:

Education & Experience

Graduation from a Community College or Technical Institute in a related field (Building Technology or Facilities Management), or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid BC Drivers License


Good knowledge of the policies and procedures pertaining to facilities management.

Working knowledge of building technology, building codes and construction document interpretation.

Knowledge of computer systems and terminology and their use pertaining to building technology and computerized temperature control systems.

Skills and Abilities

Proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to apply multiple skills around mechanical equipment; competence and good hand eye coordination in the use of tools, materials and equipment.

Proven ability demonstrating good judgment and organizational skills and possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
