Salary: $60,678.23 – $75,786.81 annually

**This position qualifies for Isolation Allowance of $38.87 bi-weekly (for Fort St. James location)

The Land and Resource Specialist is a senior program leadership position within the Stuart Nechako Natural Resource District, a Regional Operations District within the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations. Within Regional Operations, Omineca Region, the Stuart Nechako Natural Resource District achieves the Ministry’s Service Plan business goals and objectives by implementing various programs and providing input to legislation, regulations, guidelines, objectives and policy. The Natural Resource District works to ensure that the appropriate authorizations are issued to ensure economic prosperity while ensuring that environmental expectations and standards are developed and communicated in an effective way to government, agencies, First Nations, industry, stakeholders, and the public.

Reporting to the Resource Manager, the primary focus of the position is to lead a diverse team of First Nation Advisors which coordinate complex First Nation consultation, as well as aid in the delivery of strategic regional initiatives to develop creative management solutions to strategic resource management issues within the district. The position bridges ecological, social and economic disciplines of natural resource management to advance policy, ministry priorities and strategies. This position deals with complex natural resource issues involving multiple stakeholders and First Nations.
