Position description Under the supervision of the Team Lead, Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for completing various projects in his area of expertise.

His mandate involves managing and coordinating projects, designing and creating production equipment, such as developing new industrial machinery, and improving products for both Bath Fitter plants. Responsibilities 1. Manage both small- and large-scale projects from the design stage through to implementation. (Investigations, analyses, estimates, investment return calculations, budget, schedules, follow-up, communications, meeting management and documentation.) 2.

Prepare and draw up technical estimates, obtain tenders and acquire equipment or award mandates following Company procedures. 3. Participate in investigating and analyzing design requests for the manufacture of new equipment and industrial machinery, or for enhancing the latter. 4.

Design on SOLIDWORKS, in collaboration with the Design Engineer, plans/drawings of manufactured products, as well as the equipment used to manufacture them. 5. Propose improvements for equipment or manufacturing processes and actively participate in continuous improvement. 6.

Create and update building plans (factories, offices and stores). 7. Participate in establishing, implementing and reviewing products and processes. 8.

Communicate project development to internal and external clients. 9. Document his designs and processes to promote knowledge transfer and maintenance. 10.

Define, award and coordinate the projects of external firms. 11. Remain at the cutting edge of technology so as to be able to suggest projects for enhancing quality and productivity and reducing the costs of the extrusion process. 12.

Identify and implement best project management practices. 13. Ensure compliance with the provisions, laws and regulations of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and of federal, provincial and local governments. 14.

Other related tasks. Qualifications required – Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent – Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec – At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position (min. 3 years in manufacturing project management) – Good knowledge of pneumatic systems, welding and electrical components – Knowledge of machine safety – Sound knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and AutoCad software – Knowledge of plastic processing and/or thermoforming, an asset – Bilingual (both oral and written English and French), essential Characteristics and personality traits – Able to manage several projects simultaneously – Well-developed ability to manage priorities and deadlines – Solid interpersonal communication skills – Customer service oriented and a team player – Great initiative and resourcefulness – Self-starter, positive and dynamic – Interest and ability in providing training Benefits: – Great opportunities for progress – Competitive salary – Full employee benefits and RRSP – Gym and physician available in the workplace – Cafeteria subsidized by employer
