Description
Reporting to the IS Regional Sales Manager the primary role of this position is driving accelerated sales growth of BASF’s new innovations to assigned growers; developing, cultivating and maintaining business relationships with top growers; working effectively with retail partners, as well as, managing relationships with the channel. The Innovation Specialist will also actively prospect for new business to expand their customer base. The ideal candidate will have a strong market and customer focus and be able to translate this into clear business strategies to generate growth.· Gain comprehensive understanding of territory needs as it relates to the Agricultural
product portfolio, Develop a complete understanding of products and applications in the
portfolio· Ability to drive “hunting” efforts to grow future business in the Agricultural segment
and Identifies, negotiates and close new opportunities for our products.· Increase market intelligence by providing information around industries, competitors
and customers to Marketing.
Qualifications
Education requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Science, such as Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Business
or related field
Skills and/or special requirements and qualifications:Additionally, you will possess the following:
- Proven success with large operation growers.
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
- The ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as
well as internal teammates.
- Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy
appropriately, to achieve goals.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel overnight on a weekly basis.
- Passionate about making a difference in the agriculture industry. Strong
interpersonal skills
Minimum experience required:
- Minimum 3 years of relative selling or technical background within an Agricultural
related field such as seed, chemical, equipment or crop consulting.
